I have a diverse background of service and education, having held several key roles in my community and beyond. I served as Chief from 2002 to 2004 and have been a Band Councillor since 1992, completing a total of four terms intermittently. I earned my Bachelor of Education from the College of Education at the University of Saskatchewan in May 1986. Over the years, I have contributed to our Nation in various Band Council capacities, including the Justice, Economic Development, and Education Portfolios. My professional experience includes positions such as Teacher, Coordinator of the Post-Secondary Student Support Program, Director of Education, Guidance Counsellor, and Off-Campus Program Coordinator at the First Nations University of Canada (formerly known as Saskatchewan Indian Federated College). I have also worked with the One Arrow First Nation, Montreal Lake Cree Nation, Saskatoon Tribal Council, and Big River Cree Nation, primarily as a Guidance Counsellor, Teacher, and in Treaty Governance roles. Since September 2017, I have held the position of Economic Development Coordinator with my Cree Nation. In this role, I act as a liaison between the Cree Nation, Willow Cree Development Corporation, and various public and private business and corporate entities, as well as other potential business and government partners.
